Scientists for Tomorrow
Scientist for Tomorrow is an informal science after school program, educating urban youth in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). The goal of the program is to encourage and educate participants in STEM career related fields. In the “Physics of Sound and Mathematics of Music ” module, participants will explore the science behind sound, discover the mathematical relationships that rule the production of sound and music, and build 3 musical instruments: a Pythagorean scale monochord; a four-key windchime; and an equal tempered scale tuned xylophone.
